Through the Anti-Defamation League’s Bearing Witness Advanced program, Catholic school educators nationwide travel to Israel to study anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and Catholic-Jewish relations, gaining a personal appreciation of this Jewish state and its complex history. Participants interact with Holocaust survivors, historians, and pedagogical experts at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority, visit Christian and Jewish holy sites, and meet with interfaith experts.
Bearing Witness is funded by the Braun Holocaust Institute-Glick Center for Holocaust Studies, the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation, and the Memorial Library. Teachers interested in this project must first complete ADL’s Bearing Witness program. For more information, go to www.adl.org.
