Gate of Suffering

“Gate of Suffering”. I created this work of art by painting a block bright colors representing life before the Holocaust. Then I painted black over it representing what the anti-semitic acts in Europe. Then I formed the Auschwitz 1 gate. I shaped the letter to the saying “Arbeit Macht Frei” which means “Work Will Set You Free” Also there are prisoners in their striped pajamas. Something else I wanted to share about this artwork is a quote from a Holocaust survivor. ““Action is the only remedy to indifference: the most insidious danger of all” -Elie Wiesel
