Ashley,
I can relate to much of what you talk about here in terms of my identity being so wrapped up in academic success. And yet, I always have had the “imposter syndrome”: the sense that I am really stupid and that, at any moment, I will be discovered for the fraud that I am.” This drive did not come from my parents; I can’t remember one time…[Read more]

Barb,
Throughout this entire year, as I’ve “gotten to know you” through my small laptop screen, I have somehow sensed a “kindred spirit.” We haven’t yet had a lot of opportunity to interact with our cohort members, and so it’s wonderful to get a glimpse into each others’ lives through these posts. And, God-willing, we will get to finally do so…[Read more]

As I reflect on my own school–which is, of course, a long and varied timeframe and experience–I would have to say that overall my experience was very positive. Not that I didn’t feel alone a good deal, especially in high school…or that I didn’t have some teachers who didn’t seem to care much…but I think I can honestly say that most of my te…[Read more]

Dear Mary,
I feel your pain! I’ve been taking five online courses all summer, as well as preparing to teach three new classes (at least ones I haven’t taught for about five years). It’s difficult to keep track of everything and stay on top of it all.
I will post my thoughts on Sondra’s book in a little bit, which I shared with her immediately…[Read more]

Should we purchase Sondra’s book through you all or via Amazon, etc.? Just wanting to buy the book in the way that benefits TOLI most…
Thank you,

All, I thought I posted this two other times but cannot see it when I scroll through everyone else’s introductions. I thought that Elaine responded but I cannot find that anywhere either. I apologize if everyone is seeing this again!

Marla.Palmer started the topic User Interface? in the forum 2021 Summer Seminar Participant Introductions 3 years, 10 months ago
Just a quick question,
Is anyone else having trouble navigating the interface? I cannot find things easily or figure out who has responded to what, etc. It’s just not very intuitive.
I am using a Mac and just wondered if that was the issue. Any thoughts?
With gratitude,

Hello, fellow TOLI cohorts! I am late doing this because I posted all my profile information and thought that was the introduction. I just now realized that you all posted in this place. So sorry!

Hi, Michele! You’re only the second person I’ve “met” who spells her name with one “L”. One of my dearest friends does as well…
Wow, I am so glad your surgery was successful! And glad someone loves teaching middle school! I did that for a few years and discovered that I lack the patience.
I look forward to “meeting” you soon!
