Learning Past History for Present and Future – The Holocaust

Violeta Dragut

The students carried out weekly activities such as workshops, readings and research about the Holocaust in Europe and in Romania, Jews from Romania and human rights. They searched information both online and offline, in books, photos or videos, in the city archives and in the school library, as well as from adults knowledgable on the topic. Every month they discussed their findings and wrote short articles which they presented to colleagues from other schools in Europe through an online communication platform between schools. They also made some videos about the Holocaust, collages and PowerPoint presentations, which they presented to students from other schools during a common workshop. At the end of the project, they made a brochure with all the materials they had produced, titled Little Journalist. Learning Past History for Present and Future. The Holocaust.
