The project’s main activity was a study visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Kazimierz, Krakow’s historic Jewish quarter. The teacher and the students visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, they got to know the history of its creation and functioning. Then they learned about the Jewish heritage and culture in Krakow’s Kazimierz. They learned about the material heritage and listened to a lecture on Jewish customs and culture. Students learned about the Holocaust, totalitarianism and about the effects of hatred for human beings.
