Sarah, I agree that morality is impossible to separate from teaching. In my opinion, teaching is about bringing truth to students and the subject matter. Denise Deveaux, like you I grew up in NYC, not the child of immigrants from a foreign land, but the child of native southerners, who were the grandchildren of former slaves.
