hELLO EVERYONE. i LOVE THAT i KNOW MOST OF YOU AND LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING MORE OF YOU ON THIS WEBSITE.
I am now a semi-retired teacher from the NYC Dept of Ed having worked in the system for 32 years, 28 of which I taught English at the alternative, second chance school I continue to work at. I am enjoying my role outside the classroom helping new teachers, writing grants and supporting the new administration.

The joy of being a part time employee is that I have lots of free time to sew, run, have lunch with my other retired teacher friends, do yoga, and volunteer at a local women’s shelter. It’s a sweet new life.

Part of that sweetness is the work I do with HEN and the opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the country and to think together ways to teach this most difficult and challenging topic.

Our new website should be a hotbed of interesting discussions and a place to go for resources, creative ideas and much needed support. Looking forward!
